I notice the bond between Ned and his friend. In the story they show what his friend did for him during the war. It doesn't matter what race they are.

I notice that at that time the soldiers are very well bonded. Even though they may be discrimination but they still fight together. It connects to my life is that I remember when my grandpa also tells me the story during the war.

Ned won the battle on the island. After the battle was over one of the code talker was shot by his mate because he thought he was an enemy.

He was sent out into the island for training. Then he went into the battle with the Japanese. But he isn't fighting as a cold talker.

Ned was sent to hawaii. He learned more about being code talkers there. He was about to be deployed.

He graduated from the boot camp. The navajos were separated from other marine. They were sent to other camp.

During the camp Ned was able to excel at everything from learning to shooting guns. The only thing he struggle was swimming. One day a white-kid came to ask him to teach him how to read.

The first year Ned wasn't able to enlist as a soldier. The next year he was able to because he was old enough so his parent made him do a blessing for good luck. He went to the boot camp.

Ned was going into an Navajo high school. One day there was an attack .... on the pearl. Ned want to enlist to be an soldier.
