Notes:
(1) We end on a typical Mark Millar "defeated by logic" move.
- Which, at this stage in his oeuvre, is still fairly sharp, if a tad dubious.
(2) With a Superman-type hero, the problem is always how to put him in believable peril.
- This piles on every Superman-in-peril trope, from being depowered, to facing an even more powerful threat, to protecting bystanders, etc.

Notes:
(1) This series is at its strongest when villains come into play.
- The problem is we don't really know who the villains are until the second half.
(2) The gimmick here is it's a disabled kid who turns into a real life superhero. The disability plays into the story at the start and then not at all until the penultimate issue.
- Very effective, if laid on a bit thick.

(1) This has been both very solid and fairly uneventful.
- There's no big rigamarole leading into getting superpowers, it happens quickly and without much explanation. Not that you necessarily need to explain how a magic wish works.
(2) One very noticeable thing is how... liberal the art is in depicting women.
- When at all possible, cleavage and skin is at the fore.

(1) This was difficult to get a hold of! Since Millarworld's moved to Dark Horse, both the existing Marvel and Image editions are out of print and totally unavailable. Neither are they available at any of the three local libraries I have cards at.
- So, I can either wait until the inevitable Dark Horse edition or purchase the physical singles. I've chosen the latter.
