Man of My Dreams: oof. Just oof. None of those characters were real people. Sometimes they weren’t even one dimensional.

Desecrated: military fanfiction. I’m so ready for this book to be done. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

Geez what did I just read? A Trailer Park Christmas was painful to read. The surprise twist was anything but, thanks to the heavy handed telling we received. The author damn near beat us to death with the plot device. And the budget store Krampus of Dominicus Clause was so over the top silly it wasn’t even funny. Missing dialogue, incomplete sentences, and incorrect use of words tell me there was no editor.

Thinking of DNFing this book. It’s not bad per se, just boring.

The Blue Cliffs: lovely sentiment, albeit rushed story about a diverted suicide attempt and ended with the hotline to reach out if need be. Lovely!
However I thought this was a horror anthology. If so this story has no place in it.

Polybus: flirted with cool themes, ideas and even imagery. But in the end fell flat with weak and rough, borderline juvenile writing. Felt like a generic bran Cthulhu story.

Room Full of Toys: meh? Kind of boring and predictable if I’m being honest.

Finished Coma Toast: eh, again not well written. Would be curious to see how much research the author put in, although the buried alive trope is so popular because it’s such a pervasive fear. Story itself was too short to really decide on continuing or not, but I did enjoy some of the formatting the author played with to tell this story.

Finished To Feast With Orphans: predictable and also not super well written. Reads like the author is a high schooler exploring and experimenting with dark themes (dancing around edgy). That said it was a fun romp, more so than Daphne. Convinced me to give at least one more story a chance.

Finished Daphne. Writing feels clunky, unclear in spots. Ending felt like the “twist reveal” was the starting point and everything else written around it while simultaneously feeling rushed and half assed. The MiB were a hilarious wedged in cameo
