DNF. My reason is irrational. The second story (of 2) sounded great, about rescuing a newborn elephant. Then she describe the baby using their trunk. Elephants don't start learning to control their trunk until they're 6 to 8 months old and don't master it until they're about a year old. When she describes a newborn elephant doing, while a nice emotional beat, isn't possible and pulled me right out.

I wish the first short story were a novel, because there's so much more to explore with that character and the whole setup.
