I have started this 3 times by now - I like the voice of the character, as usual with K.J. Parker and his thought process is interesting, but man is this a slower start and I read in the evening... I keep falling asleep T_T I can do it!!

Ok, I said it took me a minute to get hooked on this one but dear god is it working now. It keeps escalating and I have no idea where this is going (or rather I am sure the idea I have formed is not the complete picture, because I still don't know what was "the happening" and there is no way this is not going to come back punching me in the face, knowing this author).

I will! The slow pace is not keeping me on the edge of my seat *yet* but my curiosity is definitely already picked by what "the happening" might be, for sure! I'm not dropping this! Ahaha
