I'm struggling to finish this book. I honestly don't know how it received such high reviews. I feel like I'm reading an article where the author is telling me all about the story and it's characters. Boring.

The writing feels a bit, I don't know... choppy?... maybe, but this is the author's debut book. I'm liking the story so far.

Yeah. I'm about 40% finished and I'm seriously considering just giving up. I like the characters but they're forgettable. There isn't much substance to them most of the time. Every now and then the author allows the reader to become immersed in the plot and the characters, but mostly we're just told what's happening. Boring.
I was just telling Karla, that I'd already purchased which is even more frustrating - urgh! I knew I should've waited, but as you said the reviews were looking good. Oh well *shrugs shoulders*
Wendy. If you bought it for your Kindle you have 7 days to return it. I've returned a few books and they have never given me a problem. Call amazon and tell them you don't want the book. They will take it off your account and refund your money. No questions asked. I can't remember when I bought this but if was last week I'm returning it. Here's the number. 1 (866) 321-8851.
