I’m a fan of crime fiction, but I’m not feeling this one. The story is compelling but it reads like an average movie script. The characters are childish caricatures but by far the biggest fallback is the insufferable self-insert main character. In what world do you inter-disperse descriptions of how hot or charming your MC is between descriptions of murder victims in a book about misogynistic violence?
