well, it’s just that when i describe the plot to chris decleene and i say, “jane eyre is an orphan who was traumatized by her aunt in her youth, went to a very severe school where her best friend died, became a governess for a rich man several decades her senior, fell in love with him only to discover on her wedding day that he has a madwoman wife living in his attic, and is now running away in the woods,” i realize that it sounds VERY weird 😂
