SPOILERS I'm sure I should trust the author and their process, and that all this will make sense looking back, but it was enough for me that the evil CEO was killing other versions of himself/competitors. I didn't need hime to kill other rich people's dupes for him to be an antagonist. Just feels like an unnecessary doubling down on the stakes.
