Why does this book keep feeling the need to quote The Haunting of Hill House?? 😭 I get the homage, but it feels soooo unsubtle to do it repeatedly. Especially on top of the already unsubtle themes of the book. Our house was like Hill House, EXCEPT it ISN'T because Hill House was apolitical and ours is a fascist!!!
