Some elements are entertaining, but I’m finding this book a chore to read. I get that the narrator is of unsound mind, but the clunky phrasing is frustrating and requires multiple passes. Moreover, it’s so rambling my mind keeps wandering. Can’t wait to finish.

It is good to know this. I have thought about reading it, but I find older books can sometimes be a gamble, making them a chore to read.
