I have to take this book slowly. You can see where the pattern of abuse is repeated when Lily starts with that first excuse. And, of course, the guy apologizes and then they have sex. I hope this doesn't show them with a long life together because its going to happen again.
I'll have to wait and see what's next because after that first scene, I turned off the audible for days.

Anyone who has been battered, this is hard to read. Accurate but hard because it becomes about you trying to save them instead of creating a life together.
