I know I'm barely into this book, but it doesn't feel like it's going to be dark at all. He's addicted to cherry lollipops and rides around town with his pet rat looking for a girl that he now wants to knock up after he f*cked her one time (without knowing her name or anything else about her).

I was curious and read the synopsis, but the whole time I was thinking about that pet rat and I couldn't take it seriously.

The pet rat that rides on his shoulder, has a special pouch he rides in while on the motorcycle. He scratches his ears and he purrs. The rat has a serious amount of screen time in this book!!! Oh - the rat loves cherry lollipops too.
