Read for a book club.
So far I’ve gone from interesting to nah not for me in the first 6 chapters. First off what’s the narrator’s perspective? It’s obviously not first person but it’s written as if it is. The child is ascribed complex thoughts, rationale and emotions that a child wouldn’t have. The sprinkling of Spanish to set it in its setting…is just weird. Some of the phrasing is also clunky as.
