sounds like Meiji Japan and the Korean/China expedition

thelma and louise sounds like a sick movie, the script makes the reader feel like the two women, constrained by society but go through a period of dramatic escalation that leads to enlightenment, and they end up liberated in the end by driving off a cliff to B.B. King (except they changed the song??) loving this book so far
