Each story in this anthology is so different but I've enjoyed each one so far. As someone of mixed Native and European descent, the story "The Ones Who Killed Us" broke my heart for what was done to the natives at Tenkiller but I also felt proud of my Cherokee heritage. So far, this book has really made me stop and think about my roots and ancestry. It's so complex. Beautiful but heartbreaking.

Been so busy lately I've had a hard time finding time to pick up a book but an anthology seems to fit into my schedule perfectly because the stories don't take long to read and these are SPOOKY. I live all things spooky and all things indigenous so I was excited to pick this one up to kick off my spooky season TBR.

willowmoth I've heard from friends that this collection can be a hard read for indigenous folks. I'm glad that it is helping you to build connection to your ancestry. 🖤

BiblioBabe Some have been pretty rough, like the one I mentioned. Another one was a bit triggering due to some racism and disrespect to historical and cultural artifacts.
