So far (even though this is for school), this book bas ALREADY shown me so much in terms of how we got to where we are social welfare wise and how we STILL see the poor as indigent and not worthy of needs. Not much progress tbh since the 1800s, and possibly, we’ve gone backwards imo. We’ll see as I keep reading lol
