So far I think this novel is some kind of allegory about religion and the pursuit of existential knowledge ???

The House is symbolic of life. If we spend our lives trying to figure it out we forget to live.

Trippy, dreamlike. Potentially stuck in some kind of hallucination or simulation mind prison type structure?
