Book about MAJ Jim Gant. BLUF: He is either Lawerence of Afghanistan or a real life COL Kurtz. As Gant believed that the only way to win the War in Afghanistan was to embed with tribals, and win their trust one tribe at a time. So he culturally became an afghan, built a ton of rapport with locals living a hybrid life as an ODA Commander and village elder. Pretty crazy story. Would highly recommend it.
