Nikki's main conflict is that she is feeling shame and guilt for helping Dee kill someone. She now realizes that she did all of this for someone who didn't even care about her, and now she has lost everyone who cared about her. She feels like she has lost her entire life by being stuck in jail for someone who wasn't worth all the pain and trouble.

I would use Ariana Greenblatt because she is a younger actress and I think she would be able to portray the emotions that Nikki feels in the book.

Nikki is in jail and I think the jail symbolizes Nikki feeling trapped. She doesn't know if she should reach out to Bird or not. She doesn't know if she should say more about Dee or not because she still loves him but she also is angry with him. She doesn't know what to do and she just feels trapped and isolated from everyone and everything.

Nikki has gone to the police and told them more information on what happened. She wanted to do this to let the police know that Bird wasn't a part of it but Nikki ended up being arrested. She is now starting to blame Bird for pushing her too hard which is a way that she is an unreliable narrator.

Nikki has been kicked out of Bird's house and is having to stay with her mom again. In the book the author describes her waking up in her mom's house. "I woke up in my bed-my old bed, at Cherry's. The light was on. I didn't know how long I'd been asleep or what time it was, but it was dark outside." By her description of her room, you can tell the negative feeling it gives her to be back in it.

I don't think that my narrator is reliable because it is told from Nikki's perspective. She sees Dee in a way that is clouded by her love for him and she doesn't really see the bad in him despite what Bird tells her. She explains the situation in a way that is biased because she was a part of it and she wants to protect Dee.

My book is a first-person point of view of Nikki. From the narrator being Nikki, it reaches you more emotionally because of all the emotions she is feeling. You get to see what is going through her mind and you start to feel like you actually know her. You get to feel how scared and cautious she is because she doesn't want Dee or herself to get caught and her reasoning on why she is helping him out.

People came to Nikki's work to question her. She is very scared of getting arrested and Dee getting arrested. She is also very giving and protective of the people who are close to her. She said that she would do anything for the people she loves. She is also very beautiful because she works in a hair salon, so she knows how to style her hair and just has good style in general.

Nikki is currently trying to cover up a murder that was committed by her boyfriend Dee. In her soul, she knows that it's wrong but she is blinded by her feelings for him that she doesn't care what she has to do as long as she can help him and make him feel safe. She will do anything to make the people in her life happy, safe, and secure.
