The author chose to start my book with sensory details. She used sound in order to engage the reader. Since it's the second book of the series I already kind of knew what was going on, but the use of what the character was hearing and feeling helped to engage me quickly.

Something I have found interesting about the plot of this book is the tensions between Keiran and Waverly. I'm surprised that they aren't together anymore and it seems like they might not get back together ever.
