I give "Once Upon a Seastorm" 3.5/5 stars (I liked the premise of this story and thought it had interesting themes, but as a reader I don't really vibe with ambiguity, and prefer to have a more definitive conclusion or answers, so this story didn't hit the mark for me in that regard).

I give "The Coronation" 4/5 stars (I enjoyed it, but the pacing of the relationship was far too rushed---she goes from hating him to practically agreeing to marry him within a nanosecond, and that whiplash was very off-putting to me; plus, I wish McKenna had been able to save herself. The lore and world-building was interesting tho).

14/17 stories read. I give "One Spell Too Many" 4/5 stars (I really liked this story, but the magic system is what intrigued me most of all, and I would've loved the chance to dive further into this world).

13/17 stories read. I give "A Pound of Flesh" 4.5/5 stars (Greek mythology? Greek gods in modern times?? With a unique choice of godly lover that I've never seen done before??? QUEER GREEK MYTHOLOGY???? Sign me up immediately!! Truly one of those stories that I wish was a full novel).

12/17 stories read. I give "The Soft Place" 3/5 (solid, but trippy in a way that I don't especially favor; I do appreciate the messaging in this one tho, so it gets some points from me in that regard).

I give "Floating" 3/5 stars (I wanted to like this one, but I'm really struggling to understand the meaning of the story; by the end, it felt kinda like nothing had happened at all, and it has left me feeling like my time was wasted and like I gained nothing of value--but I can't determine if the problem is w/ me or the story. So, it gets an average rating from me).

10/17 stories read. I give "Star-crossed in DC" 4.5/5 stars (I really loved this one, with its sapphic RWRB vibes, but then it ended so abruptly right before we got to the best part!!! And now I feel cheated out of a real cathartic and satisfying ending XD would maybe have given this 5 stars if it had stuck the landing, but alas).

I give "Seditious Teapots" 3.5/5 stars (lovely little rumination on questioning your gender; felt like the reader was being kept at arm's length from really getting to know the characters, which maybe works thematically, given Rory's questioning of their identity, but it hampered my ability to connect with them on a deeper level).

8/17 stories read. I give "A Road of One's Own" 4/5 stars (really enjoyed the vibes of this one, tho the cast felt a bit crowded within the confines of a short story; Eliza's social anxiety was also intensely relatable).

I give "Victory Lap" 4.5/5 stars (this one was super cute, and might be my favorite that I've read so far in this book; particularly loved the father/son dynamic at this story's heart, and it's a rare kind of short story that actually feels like it has an organic and satisfying arc, and a conclusive ending, rather than feeling rushed and incomplete).
