I keep thinking I wish it was written more in academic style than a narrative…

The Stanford Prison Experiment used to be one of my most revered studies as an undergrad, and I followed it at length including its precursors like the Milgram obedience studies. I thought it was fascinating. But reading it now... I'm less impressed than I am skeptical. Why does it feel so detached? Like the researchers are clinically exempt from what they've allowed to happen? Hopefully it redeems itself later on.
