I have wanted to read this book for so long! And the dialogue is so delightful it makes me regret not starting sooner. Both girls are adorably, accurately self-possessed and self-righteous, yet I love how the narrative convenience of them writing to each other becomes genuine within 2 chapters. Laugh out loud funny in parts

I like now the rhythm of adult Tanya’s letters starting each chapter. Continues to ratchet the dramatic tension as the two timelines converge

Now we know the violence that these letters are leading up to. It does increase the sense of tension… the center cannot hold… I hope we’ll find out what happened to Tanya’s mom, and why she is depressed
