This book is not what I was expecting, but very interesting. So far it’s focused on how in dominant western society our needs are not considered important and so largely go unmet (which hurts). The current chapter is tracing our fundamental understanding of human nature as something that must be controlled by rationality. Along the way it is exploring a distrust of Nature, and assumptions of human selfishness.
