Great so far. William Manchester is such a powerful historian and wonderfully entertaining that the book becomes alive.
When asking President Kennedy was asked by a reporter why the President couldn’t give weekly fireside chats, like FDR, he was corrected by the President. FDR gave only 27 chats and due to FDR’s 13 years in office , it averaged out to be one every 5 months—not weekly.
