While I appreciate the big national nobel-winning writers, I love finding a writer that is particular to a country, and not always with an interational reputation. I told a couple of Albanians at a bar a few months ago that I was reading Ismail Kadare, and one of them was adamant that I get my hands on this novel. Thankfully, it was recently translated & I’m enjoying it very much.
