I’m really enjoying this book so far. Alyx is a hardened assassin with an unknown past. We know a little but not much. Joha is a king who is smart but has to play dumb (not totally sure why). Orion is his best friend and guard, who is looking out for his best. Crux is the King of Assassins and is Alyx’s best friend who is hopelessly in love with her but doesn’t want to jeopardize their friendship. Those are all the points of view you listen from. Then we have the power hungry Queen Mother and all her noble sycophants. They are all falling for the ruse that the King (Joha) is clueless.
