I keep seeing tiny indicators that the author is absolutely a kinkster trying to constrain herself to write vanilla friendly romance and proto-smut.

These are my favorite junk food. The slow burn romantic tension and inevitable progression towards outright smut is always formulaic and predictable. But there's just enough solid lore, worldbuilding, and arcane mystery to keep me solidly tied in for... [checks] 7 books now without regret.
