X-Factor #40 -
My first Rob Liefeld comic!
Sadly, I didn’t love the expressions he drew… Although, his Beast was well done.

Anyway, Nanny wants all 13 babies involved in Inferno. X-Factor defends them.

We get an origin for Nanny plus Jean learns her sis’s kids are under the egg’s influence.

N & Orphan Maker flee when they sense they’re losing.

Joey & Galen recognise their grandparents!

A short about two FBI agents going around the now normal but severely impacted city, gathering a report for the government about what really happened.

I learned after I read this that this story was originally published in X-Factor Annual #4. (Not sure why I felt like I needed to note this but there ya go!)

X-Factor #39 -
One by one, the mutants try to fight against Sinister but he’s too powerful.

He tells Scott how he first learned about him and that he put blocks on Scott’s ability.

Finally, the heroes gang up on the villain and Alex does what a sibling does best; infuriate.

Scott blasts Sinister down to the bone!

Storm says the X-Men & XF have different roles to play to make Xavier’s dream come true.

X-Factor #38 -
More fights as Madelyne pits multiple opponents against each other.

M reveals her origins to Jean.
Because J rejected the Phoenix, Maddy was the one who woke.

M states only her hate and revenge are important to her, so determined to destroy them all…

This leads Jean to finally accepting the Phoenix and saving all but Maddy.

Both teams resolve to finding and dealing with Mister Sinister...

Uncanny X-Men #242 -
X-Men v X-Factor!

Madelyne fans the flames and forces Scott to choose between her and their son, or Jean (no surprise, he chooses J - although, he says he could’ve saved both).

Alex follows Maddy and becomes the Goblin Prince…

M agrees to cast N’astirh’s spell but not before she takes Jean’s soul!

Some weather manipulation later, N overloads!

As Storm is scolded, Jean is captured…

New Mutants #73 -
Colossus provides exposition and becomes a hostage.
Ill never wanted her brother to see her in her current state.

Rahne doesn’t accept Ill’s decision to rule Limbo and decides to save the young Illyana.

Fully embracing her powers, Darkchilde recalls all demons back to Limbo.

Sacrificing her adult self allows the innocent child to live.

N’astirh's plans to rule are not over...

X-Factor #37 -
N’astirh, with the Transmode virus, absorbed Taki’s computer’s ability to perform magic.

The Goblin Queen arrives with ‘Nathan’ in her arms.

She says all that she’s wanted to; Scott never wanted her, he always wanted Jean.

Mady’s fury grows.

To take away Scott’s dream, M will kill her son!

Unleashing her power causes an explosion and the beginnings of a meeting we’ve been waiting for…

Uncanny X-Men #341 -
Madelyne does not believe Mr Sinister, until he slowly explains her creation and how the Phoenix Force awakened her cloned body.

M learns she was used and amazingly breaks the chains holding her.

Reuniting with her son, the Goblin Queen promises to create an Inferno that will consume the world!

Meanwhile, the X-Men continue their savage fight with the Marauders.
Only Colossus resists…

New Mutants #72 -
We see the beginning of the N’astirh/S’ym fight.

To save Illyana from attacks, N’astirh ‘ports her away.

NMs help the X-Terminators save the babies!

Trial after trial, Illyana finally fails…A not dead N’astirh said she hadn’t fully embraced her darkest parts.

Embracing the darkness encases Darkchilde in a silver armour.

The demon leaves Illyana feeling as tho she’s going mad…
