Enjoying this - the breezy, self-deprecating and very English style might not be for everybody, but it does mostly work for me, and I like Stancomb's genuine interest in his neighbours, in the island, and in its recent history. Just read a startling passage involving his house's past, Tito, and Richmond golf club.
