I bought this book quite a while ago because I am a fan of short stories. This was on my shelf before the scandal of the author's daughter's abuse was revealed. I was on the fence about reading it after all and followed the group discussion on the topic. I decided as awful as the situation was, the author is no longer alive, and I may as well go ahead and read it.
