happened to be looking through good reads feed and saw this and laughed out loud. Too true and why I keep putting off reading books in Italian and German despite loftily asserting that I will never read certain books unless I read it in the OG language (mainly Dante’s inferno and German fantasy novel Die Unendliche Geschichte LOL). Also cracked up seeing “sfortunati”.. Somehow took me wayyy too long to realize this was “a series of unfortunate events” translated and not an Italian children’s classic 😭
