To be honest, I have no idea what I just read for the first half of the book. It seems like this girl was a mistress and she finally got to her senses and left the man. But it looks like she had a rotation of guys, one of which stop speaking to her because she kept flaking on him for the married man and he found out. Then there’s another one who came crawling back after she moved away ringing her work to ask her out.

The story did bring up some thoughts about how people conduct themselves when in a relationship. The girl was going to cook breakfast just because the guy was there. And she did things for him like press a hot rag on his back, that he didn’t for her. She specifically said she did it because that’s how she would want to be treated. Says a lot.

The pictures were nicely drawn, and there were some poetic parts. The storyline, I’m not too keen on. I’m not a fan on reading a mistress’s point of view. I got confused sometimes with the writing because it was my first time reading a graphic novel, and it’s also a translation book so I imagine some essence was lost in translation. Happy ending for the girl though

Then he shows up to her house unexpectedly and tells her he’s in love with her and wants to marry her, but he’s still in a relationship with his girlfriend, whom he’s engaged to and was cheating on with the main character. Now I know relationships are complicated but they surely aren’t THAT complicated. And looks like they decided to move in together. I honestly don’t know what to say or think

I feel like a part of the gamble of being a mistress is the feeling of being chosen; a “pick me” essentially. Like they truly feel like they’re the prize since the man is going against what’s right in order to be with them.

This is sad, honestly. It could all be so simple, but people rather make it hard and complicated to keep their boring lives interesting, carelessly putting other people’s lives at risk. Such unnecessary behavior cheating is. Just go where you want to be! People always want the best of both worlds, and that’s just not how life is set up. Very unfair to the unwittingly company.

HA! He tricked her into going back to sleep so he could dip out on her. Does she not feel shame?

I’m gonna need this girl to acquire some self esteem and a therapist. I’ve never seen something so low and pitiful. I understand the feeling, but my God, have some self respect. It’s really sad to see. She doesn’t have to be with a married man to find love, but I enjoy the questions the book raises about loneliness, and desperation
