I did check out a couple of books from the library but when it came time to start a new book I wasn’t sure I was feeling either of the ones I’d picked up and I’m still not wanting to read anything too long because I’m waiting for my library to get PLAYGROUND in. And I’m eager to find out what happens next in this series. So I decided to just go straight into book #2. It’s even shorter than the first.

Two books in and I’m thinking I probably am into this series more than I was EVERWORLD. I’m going to have to have to seek out and buy books #13 and #14 soon because I can see myself potentially speeding through the rest of the series. I’m not *quite* done with this book but I think it’s better than the first. And I thought the first was pretty good.

I saw part of one of the Top Reviews on Goodreads referencing a scene where a 3-year-old’s eyeballs liquify and leak out of his empty eye sockets and sure enough that moment is in this section I have just read! Pretty disturbing! It leaves another character feeling like, “He wanted to cry. He wanted to scream. He wanted to wake up and not be here. It was too much, too much.”
