After Carol accuses Archer of being selfish enough to kill Tim, Josie exclaims, "[That] it [seems] as if Carol's demons [have] been released [after] she had accused Archer of something [much] worse [then just accidentally killing Tim]" (Forster 232). Josie is disgusted that in court Carol accused Archer of being selfish enough to kill Tim, even though she had no real evidence to support her claim.
