Bucky Buchanan (from Saratoga) How do you like it? I could not force my way through it. I mostly listened to audiobook though, and the narration really sucked, so that definitely was a contributing factor. I also thought Stephenson was showing off, cause he kept saying "Nippon this", "Nipponese that". Like, come on, whats wrong with "Japan"??

I like it a lot so far. I'm reading it though, not listening. I have no idea if it would translate well to audio - it sounds like it didn't work for you. NS definitely has some idiosyncrasies that don't work for every reader. But I've really enjoyed the books by him that I've read.
