Why not say generations? I mean this is a world where magic exists. But if your world has Missouri it it, we need to honor some sort of historical accuracy. Jmo

These dudes have run a hotel for "centuries?" Yo, euroamerican history in america ain't that old. French explorers were euroamericans in Missouri during contact period. But the surname Brennan doesn't sound French. A quick Google search tells me it's Irish. The first Irish settlers were recorded in st. Louis around 1830. So it has not, in fact, been centuries even if they were literally the first settlers in MO.
