I genuinely can't tell if Cathy is meant to be Irish or not anymore. She studies Gaelic but while Gaelic is meant to refer to Scottish Gaelic, people outside Scotland and Ireland make the mistake of using it to mean Irish all the time and think I recall it being implied she's Irish earlier I so have no idea which language Cathy is lamenting not having gotten to grow up with
