I really want to enjoy this more than I am. I'm all for character studies of sad people. I'm just struggling to enjoy these particular sad people navel-gazing. I'm not gonna give up on it but it's just not feeling like it's for me (and there is so much left...)

Perhaps this isn't for me.
I don't mind the change in PoV meaning different writing styles. And of course the one brother is terrible, he's easy to dislike, fine, who hasn't read books with unlikable protagonists? But I am just exhausted by these people and the plodding long chapters and the way two of the women get no interior life on the page (probably a Choice for lawyer brother). Was it heavily hyped? AITA?
