don’t know what page i’m on - bad sign. a sign i haven’t been reading it. bleak. i’m shaking my head. i realized i lost the stamina for big books. foolishly i’ve been pausing my “abel and cain” read with novels and novellas and anything short and innocuous and tempting. all with the excuse that the small books are helping me read the big book so that the latter is not all consuming and exhausting. pt1

anyways, i’m done nibbling with small books. i know i am liking this book so i should just read it, even if it’s long and heavy. making a mental note to read more big books because my reading brain muscle is obviously weak. it’s like going on a run and being out of breath by mile two. not very cool.
