Is anyone else finding that one of the few useful features on this site -- the 'Compare Books' feature -- rarely works anymore?

Enough of the microaggression, Amazon. If you hate readers, then just disengage and shut this site down.

Pedro The site has never been user friendly. I don’t have that much free time.

I just use the app as there’s not much I want to do that I can’t do on it.

And when I want to compare books I just see what the person is reading at the moment - that’s all I need to know. 😂

Vivian This site is about book sales, not reader experience. Those days are looong gone.

Yes, here we are Scrambling Amongst the Ruins: Why Civilizations Collapse and Communities Disappear. 😉

Caroline How's it not working for you? Asking genuinely. I just did a CB with you, and it appears the same as always for me. (I choose "read" from the upper right-hand drop-down menu.)

Yeah. Every time something malfunctions here--or, lately, every time the site is stripped of something--there's outrage, but Amazon bought the site 11 years ago, and GR deleted its Feedback group not long thereafter. Why do most(?) users think reader experience would stay as good as it was pre-2013? That (including customer service) hasn't been even close to a priority since the Amazon buy-out. So much of the site is run by member-volunteers! (E.g., the Librarians group and Help).

I've said it on a few statuses now, but if your catalog matters to you, I strongly advise exporting it. There's a link for that under your list of shelf names, if I recall correctly.

Left Coast Justin Caroline, about 20% of the time it works just fine. The other 80%, I get an "unexpected error -- please check back later" message.

For the reviews that I put any actual thought and effort into, I write them first in Word and keep them that way. Once a year I do an export, too. That's good advice.
