this book is embarrassing. the book i read prior to this was really good and picked up on the nuances of colonial societies condemning out groups as cannibals as a method of alienation, but this one just presents divisive info as truth and doesn't see why marginalised groups with thousands of years of exploitation don't want to be just written off as cannibals based on the writings of people like james cook
