lol, I had to stop at this quote as well, Luli. Like you, I enjoy voyage (with suspension of some believes, of cause) but romance is another story. Are you as confused as me with a pacing of the story . It seems each chapter starts way ahead of the events which happened in the previous one and then the author steps us back...

I have never met such a bold heroine...I don't know what to do with her! :))

Well, Lyuda, I know her story and I was expecting it worse... it is sad but she had told it in so a matter of fact matter that it have not affected me so much...o maybe I am not that invested in the phanton romance...I am not sure... but I definitely prefer this than (view spoiler)[ a rape (hide spoiler)]. I couldn´t have understood the lust if it had been the later...
What do you think?

I agree, Luli, her story is sad and heart- wrenching but not the way it was told but how I imagine it in my head :) Here is my thoughts so far (I posted it on Linda's update as well) (view spoiler)[I think the author did a good job describing their canoe ride through rapids. Felt realistic. I also enjoyed a funny part about skunk. I like the charactes individually as people but still have problem with their romance,.. I don't know if it makes sense. Their conversation seems so wooden and there is no humor or witty banter in sight, and I don't feel chemistry despite all of their sexy times. (hide spoiler)] What do you think? I'm at about 56%

The same here, Lyuda...the same... and it's a relief because I was thinking maybe I was becoming a bit cold- hearted ;)

But the escenery's descriptions are beautiful althoug there are a lot of implausible things happening like(view spoiler)[ no hunt, not frozen waters and the heroine's strength is excessive. (hide spoiler)]
