Evans dismantles the Leap of Faith attribution to Kierkegaard for what it is: a bad faith reading propagated by atheist existentialists, particularly Camus. This characterization has seeped into philosophy 101 courses everywhere (mine included) but it’s just flatly wrong.

Impressed so far, but Evans fealty to feminist criticisms of Kierkegaard and his defense of K’s “sexist” categories is tiresome, to say the least. Feminist theory (noxious as it is) is outside of Evans’ wheelhouse, and he gives far too many concessions in his defense.
