At about page 118 the lines quit reaching the right margin and the story quits making sense, so I suspect this is poetry. There's only one poem in the whole world that I ever liked and this isn't it. If it goes on for much longer (it's been about 10 pages now), I'm gonna have to bail.

He's overdoing the word-mashing. The way English works is when two words are very often seen together, the next step is to see them joined with a hyphen. After that, they often are joined to make one word. This is not always prudent -- particularly if the concatenation causes the reader to have to stop and re-read. Even total hacks know better than this, which is why we don't see "darklycomic" and "rollickingromp".

I'll give it a try. I don't really mind a bit of word-concatenation, I'll even put up with Stately, plump Buck Mulligan", but if he goes all "riverrunriverrun" on me, I'm out.
