Isn’t it kind of idiotic to have two of the most important people on this mission in the same room doing the same somewhat dangerous experiment a few days before launch? yeah

If something happens to Rocky I will dnf this book immediately
I‘m happy something kind of threatening is happening tho, most of the book at this point has just kind of been smooth sailing. Aside from the actual premise lmao
But I have a hard time keeping up with Weir‘s descriptions of things. It‘s just way too detailed and I don’t even know what‘s going on lmao

i‘m convinced andy weir has never met another human before. or anyone who is not american. because what the hell is going on with any and all characters in this book (except for rocky we love rocky). why is dubois sheldon cooper.

I am starting to realize maybe I‘m just not really the target audience for this type of science-fiction? The endless info dumping is getting to me and I understand like 40% of it at most. The female and non-American characters are also written in a….strange way.

i'm back
First of all, all the science talk is really getting to me. I have no idea what this man is saying and I don't know why I'm expected to.
Second, if I had first contact with aliens and the aliens looked like giant spiders, I'd have to end it all. Fuck this historic moment, I'm blowing us all up. Yes, I am a spiderist.
That being said, their interactions are kinda cute and I'm invested again.
