Sally naming the dog Alexei in her Brothers Karamazov retelling implies she thinks Alyosha (proper name Alexei) is the least complex and thematically significant brother lol.

Ivan is obviously the main character to her as he appears in the clearest form. It will be interesting to see how she justifies his suffering without the full counterpoint of Alyosha.
