Would it even be this time of year if I wasn't rereading this book for the umpteenth time? It's literally tradition for me now at this point. This year, Halloween (or 'Hop-Tu-Naa' if you're a Manxie) is also the day when we move into Samhain, as per the Celtic/Pagan 'Wheel Of The Year'. I love it when that kind of serendipitous synchronicity occurs.

I've already read this one a couple of times before, but I really enjoyed it. Plus, having just read 'The Witchfinder's Sister' today, I've been out in the mood to revisit 'Witch Hunt' as we approach Halloween in a couple of days. I'm not in the mood for anything hard going today, but a bit of escapism is definitely what the doctor ordered. Hot sweet tea & some reading on the sofa, with the wind howling outside? Yay!

I love this book! I first read it about three years ago I think, but really wanted to read it again as my 'Halloween Read' especially because it nicely coincides with a series on C5 right now, where Dr Susannah Lipscombe charts the spread of the witch hunts, trials and executions in Scotland and England in the 15th and 16th Century. Syd Moore does a really fantastic job of blending fact with fiction.
