There's a certain beauty to this book of the reality of high school and the coming of age aspect of the characters. The reality of high school really hits the overall meanness and emotions of being a outcast. I'm not exactly sure how to explain it but so far there were very specific scenes that hit close to home and I think that these parts were so important for the book's appeal.
